CALVERTON, MD, January 7, 2021 — On January 1, 2021, the Intermodal Association of North America installed its 2021 Board of Directors and Officers, welcoming one new member, Barbara Melvin of South Carolina Ports Authority.
Dr. Noel Hacegaba, deputy executive director of the Port of Long Beach, was elected chairman of the board. Hacegaba joined the Port in 2010 and in his current role is responsible for managing its day-to-day administrative and operating functions.
“Noel’s and the Port of Long Beach’s commitment to the industry and the Association have helped to progress important intermodal initiatives,” said IANA President and CEO Joni Casey. “As we move into another challenging year, we will certainly need Noel’s breadth of knowledge and insight as IANA’s chairman.”
The other officers elected, along with Hacegaba, are: Vice Chairman Shelli Austin, president of InTek Freight & Logistics Inc.; and Treasurer Tom Williams, group vice president, consumer products at BNSF Railway.
In addition to Austin, two directors were re-elected to the Board: Kevin Lhotak of Reliable Transportation Specialists, Inc.; and Douglas Hoehn of Milestone Equipment Holdings. The term of service for each of these board seats is three years, beginning January 1, 2021.
