CALVERTON, MD (Jan. 3, 2025) – To begin the new year, the Intermodal Association of North America welcomed two schools into the Joanne F. Casey Scholarship Program — University of Houston and Mississippi State University. Both offer a comprehensive curriculum in logistics and transportation, including intermodal. Together, they bring the total number of participating institutions to fifteen, including the Transportation & Supply Chain Institute at the University of Denver, a graduate-only program.

“I congratulate our newest collegiate additions to the Scholarship Program, the University of Houston and Mississippi State,” said Anne Reinke, IANA’s president and CEO. “The funding advances education for the next generation of intermodalists who will move the industry forward.”

Since its inception in 2007, IANA has provided over $5.9 million to support students in university programs focused on freight and intermodal transportation. The Award provides financial support for tuition, enriches coursework and student research, and facilitates student travel to key freight and intermodal facilities, case competitions and events.
